About Me

My photo
Someone once told me I should model, they were serious and genuine. So I found a whole culture of photographers, artists and stylists that wanted to turn their visions into reality. These are the results of my encounters. If you wish to work with me, please visit my Model Mayhem page and leave a message. www.modelmayhem.com/sylwiaw

A First With F.ALT

It was a glorious day when I saw the link to these sitting in my inbox. I can't express enough how excited I was to see the final product by the very talented Nikita Gushue of F.ALT Photography. She has cultivated a creative finish that is uniquely her own; it's super stylized and not to mention wickedly cool. It was such a treat to work with her, and fingers crossed this extremely talented artist and genuinely lovely person relocates closer to the ocean ;)

I Could Be In Maxim Right?

The sun is shining, and I feel inspired. Here are some selects from a shoot I did with Jeremy Adshade, back when we thought, "Hey, I wonder if we could make Sylwia look like a Maxim model?" I think we did not too shabby ;)

Look how tanned I am! Don't worry my little goth friends, it was courtesy of Ben Nye.

Once A Scarlet Harlot...

So, Restricted is having a red themed fetish night on September 24th, and without question I will be there. But, the poster, and the fact that redheads get in for free, ignited a desire to find some evidence of my own scarlet harlot stage.

Surprisingly, not as many shoots were done with my vibrant, fire-engine red hair as I thought. Lots of orange and pink and the stages in between, but only Jason Hornberger ever really captured me as a redhead. Weird.

And I even rocked the red hair in silver body paint ;)

Deja Vu

So my previous post was about reminiscing for homemade photo shoots, involving simple lighting and apartment walls as backdrops. Nostalgia turned into deja vu last week when I shot with Chris Thorn in my studio apartment. Spacious enough to put in a backdrop; but still with all my furniture crammed into one corner or sitting on the balcony.

In deciding which images to post; it gave me an opportunity to look with a little more of a critical eye, I've done a lot of shoots, with lots of photographers and learned a little something every time. I totally know Chris is reading this; that's mostly why I'm writing it down. :P

My biggest thing is altering the colour so that my eyes look unnaturally blue. I think the blue they are right now is pretty sweet, they don't need tweaking.  As well, blowing out photos takes away some of the texture and story of the person: must use sparingly.

As I was making my selects for this post, I can totally tell which poses resonated with me, and which I was just doing because it was on the list. I think just trusting the process and letting poses happen organically after awhile will create stronger imagery...

But that being said, I only have one follower of this blog anyhow, so what do I know? I just get naked!

Twisted Figure

I'm feeling a little nostalgic...

I remember when I shot these pictures in my apartment. We pushed all my furniture into a corner of the room; my neighbour and her boyfriend, who happened to be quite proficient in rope bondage, were tying me up for hours. I would sip Happy Planet in between "outfits."

This was all for a website that never came into existence. I don't even think the photographer shoots this kind of material anymore; I think he just does weddings now. I would give him props for the images, but I feel like he closed that chapter in his life.

Note my three lip rings, my clavicle piercing and even my un-tattooed back.

A Little Bit Of Latex

These last few days the only way I can describe how I feel is overstimulated. I sleep 10 to 12 hours a day, I get up, go to work, do some yoga, then stay up til 2am watching Gerodie Shore and Teen Mom, and then I do it all over again. Everyone says it's just my adjustment period to moving. I miss my friends, my family, my stable and authentic relationships.

But, just as it starts to take it's toll, the universe presents me with a special treat...pictures from my last photoshoot with Jeremy Adshade in nothing but super sexy Polymorphe latex. Hurrah! Life is good again. :D

Visha Loo, I Miss You

I miss my Visha Loo. Not only is she the bendiest girl I know, she is also full of love and understanding, never catty or dramatic and achieves anything she sets her mind to. I have had the pleasure of knowing her for the last 7 years and in that time I have seen her grow, learn and create and everyday I am grateful that she is my friend. I miss her so much. Looking back through old pictures of when we first met, and modelled with Jeremy Adshade, I get a little sad.

I don't know when I am going to see her again. It may not be til winter, and that's a long time from now, but I am grateful because I have our pictures. Virtually a family album, I look through them and it jogs my memory of those events and I smile. I am lucky to have her in my life.

Visha Loo, I miss you...

The Keys To The Kingdom

Art of Allure is the first photographer I intend to call the second I land in Vancouver. I still consider the work Bapi and I did together almost 8 years ago to be some of my best.

2:15:51.01

In honour of my recently completed half-marathon, I wanted to post some pictures from a shoot I did with my friend Brandy Mudryk. We wanted to have a very Yoga Journal / Runner's World / Oxygen feel to it. This is an area of modeling I am definitely drawn to and would love to do more of. Enjoy :)

We Kept It Simple

We kept it simple, black and white, with the focus on posture and lighting. Taken by Kevin Canada.

As Per Request

I get a lot of requests to post the full set of these photos from Jeremy Adshade. I imagine that if I were royalty in the late 1700's my hair would look just like this.

The Impalement Arts

Exposure is the key to infamy.

I've never been one to be a performer. I can't sing, I can't dance, and I certainly can't juggle. But, I know that modeling isn't enough, so I do my best by strolling catwalks at fetish fashion shows, sploshing around in vats of glitter and goo, and in this case, having sharp objects thrown at me.

It's certainly fun to play magician’s assistant for an evening, especially when the knife throw led to some knife play. I'm excited to see what Crimson Events has in store for me next time. ;)
